Lewis Carroll applied to Toastmasters
When preparing a speech keep it focused. Keep in mind the wisdom of the Cheshire cat:One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. Which road do I take? she asked. Where do you want to go? was his response. I don't know, Alice answered. Then, said the cat, it doesn't matter. While doing a speech or a table topic don't forget to:
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end; then stop. And for the evaluators:
Everything's got a moral, if only you can find it.
March Madness
Once upon a time, down a rabbit hole, the March Hare and the Mad Hatter
were having tea with Dormouse. The Hatter said, among other things, " at
the great concert given by the Queen of Hearts, and I had to sing:
"Twinkle, twinkle, little bat!
How I wonder what you're at!"
"Up above the world you fly,
Like a tea-tray in the sky.
`Well, I'd hardly finished the first verse when the Queen jumped up
and bawled out, "He's murdering the time! Off with his head!"'
