If you wanted to know what to get me for my birthday

I must admit I am hard to buy for. I have everything a guy could need, most everything a guy could want and certainly more than most guys on the planet could even dream of. Yet, there is a certain obligations of gift giving for birthday and Christmas. So, for those who are interested, here is all I want for my birthday, or Christmas or what ever holiday induce buying you are doing.

Desktop Warfare Kits: "So thank goodness these awesome projectile-chuckers are making a comeback in the form of our delightfully vindictive Desktop Warfare Kits. As you may have surmised, these build-em-yourself wooden weapons are not quite as devastating as their full-sized counterparts, but they're considerably more amusing as they can be used to fling soggy bits of squished-up tissue and other office detritus at annoying colleagues. Also, each smart masterpiece looks totally innocuous sitting by your computer - perfect for sneak attacks. "

It is what every cubie dweller needs

Trudi Thomas Memorial 5K Run

The West Bountiful Arts Council is organizing a 5K run in memory of Trudi Thomas, who passed away earlier this year. In her memory, her parents have established a scholarship fund for students who attend the University of Utah. The proceeds from the 5K race will help fund the scholarship:

In memory of my life and love for education my parents are establishing a scholarship fund in my name at the University of Utah. The city of West Bountiful has asked my parents to organize a 5K walk/run for the Founder's Day celebration on September 15 with all proceeds going to the fund. Your participation in this would be greatly appreciated either by running/walking or a cash donation. Come join us by walking, running, pushing a stroller, or even walking the dog on September 15th.

Thank you for participating and helping us make the "Trudi Thomas Memorial Scholarship Fund" a reality. Donations can be made at any America First Credit Union under the "Trudi Thomas Memorial Scholarship Fund.

In honor of Trudi and for my own well-being, I have decided to participate in the 5K with my daughter. I am not a runner and this will be my first attempt at a 5K. Walking the route would be something I could do, but I decided to do more.

As I was looking around the Internet I found Cool Running :: The Couch-to-5K Running Plan
It is a 9 week program to get even a couch potato such as myself ready to jog the 3 plus miles of a 5K race. I am in the 3rd week of the program and it seems to be doing the trick. Each week I can push myself to go a little further.

I have 6 weeks left to go on the program and almost 6 weeks to the run. I am looking forward to completing the run.
